The letter I sent to the editor of GVSU’s Lanthorn is getting published in tomorrow’s paper. You can find it here. Although there was some heavy editing (you can read the original letter here), I thought it was done judiciously. The section they took out, aside from my parenthetical explanation of what I meant by citing Matthew 28, was the only part that I think could have been viewed as out of line or offensive (although I think a careful reader would understand that that wasn’t the intent). I’d rather they hadn’t taken anything out, but I don’t think the message was lost in removing the 162 words (out of 622) that they did.
